Conversations on Sustainability
How sustainable is NAU? Do you ever wonder how they figure that out? What is sustainability anyway?

Come to Conversations on Sustainability, with hosts Gary Nabhan and Gary Deason from the Center for Sustainable Environments, as they talk with guests about sustainability issues facing NAU and Flagstaff. Your questions and discussion will be an important part of this informal series. All lectures are held in the Cowden Learning Community Lounge (Building 38) on the NAU Campus. Free and open to the public. Refreshments will be provided.

Wednesday, September 29, 4:00 p.m.
Join Dr. Bridget Bero, Associate Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, as she and Dr. Gary Deason, Associate Director of the Center for Sustainable Environments, discuss campus sustainability and environment management systems (monitoring consumption on campus).

Wednesday, October 27, 4:00 p.m.
Come hear how NAU is educating students when Dr. Sandra Lubarsky, Director of the Master of Liberal Studies Program, talks with Dr. Gary Nabhan, Director of the Center for Sustainable Environments, about sustainability in the curriculum.

Unfortunately, due to a scheduling conflict, this talk has been cancelled.
Find out about local food systems as Johanna Divine, coordinator for the summer farmer's market, talks with Dr. Gary Nabhan. Learn why it is important to purchase food locally, and what that means.
