CSE's International Projects:

Islands in Danger of Being Loved to Death

There are 15 small rocky islands in Bahía de los Ángeles, Baja California. This area is scheduled to be a part of development efforts to bring more tourist dollars to the Baja California Penninsula.

Patty West is part of an interdisciplinary international team working to help document the flora and fauna of the islands of Bahía de los Ángeles. Researchers, local communities, government agencies and non-governmental organizations work together to establish conservation and research priorities for the area. The islands and surrounding shoreline on the peninsula may be the site of one of the next national parks in Mexico.
